Bedah has over 24 years professional experience with 16 years' experience at Senior Executive Level in the Banking & Financial Services Industry. Prior to joining EFC Zambia in 2018, he worked with Barclays Bank Zambia Plc from 2007 to 2012 as Chief Operating Officer. After 5 years with Barclays Bank Zambia, Bedah went on International Assignment to work at the National Bank of Commerce Tanzania (A member of the Barclays Africa Group) on a Special Project Assignment in Dar Es Salaam, before being appointed to the role of Director Transformation for Barclays Africa (Retail and Business Banking) in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Upon his return home to Zambia in 2015, Bedah joined Zambia National Building Society where he served as Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Managing Director for two and a half years before joining EFC Zambia. In his early career, Bedah also worked for Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines, Zambia National Commercial Bank and Standard Chartered Bank.
Bedah has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree obtained from the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business in South Africa. He also holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) Degree with Honours in Electronics and Electrical from the University of Manchester in England. Bedah is a Member of the Zambia Institute of Banking and Financial Services (ZIBFS), Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ) and the Institute of Directors (IoD)
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Kampaka has over 14 years' experience in the Banking & Financial sector where he has held various senior positions. He previously worked for Prudential Life Assurance Ltd as the Head of Finance and Investment before joining Barclays Life as the Head of Finance and Compliance. He later joined Sanlam Zambia as Chief Operations Officer and his most recent role before joining EFC Zambia was Group Chief Financial Officer at Innovate Group.
Kampaka is a Chartered Accountant - CIMA from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants with a Bachelor of Business in Applied Accounting (BBAA Hons). He is also an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (ACMA) and a fellow of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (FZICA).
CHIEF CREDIT OFFICER
Christopher brings a wealth of Risk Management experience which he acquired with Barclays Bank Zambia Plc and the Barclays Group where he worked for over 10 years prior to joining EFC.
At Group, Christopher has worked at senior management positions including Risk Strategy and Planning Manager and Head of Models, Management Information and Analytics in Dubai, UAE, and Johannesburg, SA, respectively where he was responsible for portfolio management and risk mitigating strategies for all Barclays Africa countries (BA), which included Risk Appetite setting and monitoring, Collections and Recoveries as well as Stress Testing exercises. He was also responsible for new product deployment as well as for Risk Change and Projects, with the implementation of IFRS9 in all Barclays Africa countries being the latest project he was undertaking prior to leaving Barclays in February 2017.
Within the country Christopher held several positions within the Risk Department with Head of Credit Policy, Models and Analytics being the most recent. He was also key in implementing the Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework (ERMF) as well as the Basel II Framework for Barclays Zambia.
Christopher holds a B.Eng. in Computer Engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China.
CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER
Mary has over 15 years microfinance and banking experience. Prior to joining EFC in 2015, she worked with PRIDE Zambia, Barclays Bank Zambia and Standard Chartered Bank Zambia.
Mary has extensive knowledge and experience in advanced credit management, branch operations and client relationship management. She rose through the ranks from the position of Credit Officer to Operations Manager whilst working for PRIDE Zambia prior to joining Barclays Bank Zambia. While at Barclays, she held positions such as Head of Operations for the Barclays Zambia Microfinance project, Manager-SME, Agency and Legal Recoveries and as Collections & Recoveries Strategy Manager. She also worked as Collections Manager for the Unsecured Credit portfolio for Standard Chartered Bank Plc.
Mary holds an MBA from the Eastern & Southern Africa Management Institute (ESAMI) and a BSc in Production Management from the Copperbelt University.
CHIEF INTERNAL AUDITOR
Chrisain comes with a wealth of knowledge in Accounting, Business Advisory, Risk Analysis, Capital and Liquidity Fund Raising, Internal and External Audit and other systems attestation work which has been gained through a variety of work environments. He is a Fellow of Chartered Accountant (UK) with over 19 years post qualification experience. He is also an ACCA Fellow Member and a ZICA Fellow Member.
Before joining EFC, Chrisain's most recent role was Chief Financial Officer at Metalco Industries Group of Companies. Prior to this, he worked with JM Capital Africa (Pty) Ltd as Country Representative for Zambia, Malawi and Zimbabwe. Chrisain has also worked with Ecobank Zambia Ltd as the Head of Audit and Compliance.
Chrisain has worked with Investrust Bank Plc where he held positions of Team Leader for Non-performing Assets and also as Head Internal Audit. Chrisain also worked as the Head of Internal Audit at Intermarket Banking Corporation where he also served as Acting Chief Financial Officer. In his early career, Chrisain worked with KPMG (Zambia) as an Audit Trainee and later Audit Senior.
HEAD OF LEGAL / COMPANY SECRETARY
Martha Msoni-Mwondela joined EFC Zambia in 2010 as a Legal Officer and rose to the position of Head of Legal/Company Secretary. She is responsible for overseeing the legal function, in addition to her Company Secretarial role.
Martha has experience in Credit Risk Analysis, Compliance and Company Secretarial. She has worked with Legal Resource Foundation as a Legal Officer and Johnson Mwondela and Advocates law firm as an Intern. Martha is a member of the Law Association of Zambia and the Zambia Institute of Banking and Financial Services where she obtained a post graduate Diploma in Risk Management. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Commercial and Corporate Law.
She is a holder of an LLB Degree from the Zambian Open University and an Advocate of the High court for Zambia
HEAD OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS
Esau brings an abundance of wealth and experience in Banking, Technology and Project Management. He has a little under 30 years' experience in the Banking & Financial sector.
He has previously worked for Standard Chartered Bank Zambia PLC where his last role was Senior Technical Analyst in the IT Dept. He later joined Barclays Bank Zambia PLC as Electronic Banking Manager in Operations, before moving to Retail Banking as Digital Channels Specialist and finally as Project Manager in the Operations Dept. He later moved to Multichoice Zambia Limited as a Consultant Project Manager and his most recent engagement, before joining EFC Zambia, was in Project and Management Consultancy at Spry Consult (Z) Ltd.
Esau is a holder of a BSc. (Hons) Degree in Computing obtained from Greenwich University, Certified PRINCE2 Practitioner and currently undertaking two master's degree programs - MSc. Project Management and MEng. ICT Policy and Management. He is also a member of the Information & Communication Technology Association of Zambia (ICTAZ) as well as the British Computer Society (BCS).
HEAD OF RISK AND COMPLIANCE
Charles has experience in the telecommunication and construction industries as Accountant, his immediate past role being accountant at Simu Construction. This involved among other things management of key stakeholders such as Tax Authorities and Workers Compensation. At EFC he has held the role of Treasury Manager before being appointed Head of Risk and Compliance.
Charles is a Chartered Financial Analyst Level 2 Candidate, a finalist of the Master of Science in Accounting and Finance with the University of Zambia and further studying Certified Expert in Risk Management (CERM) with Frankfurt School of Development Finance. He also holds a bachelor's degree in accounting and finance from the Copperbelt University.
ACTING CHIEF HUMAN RESOURCES AND ADMINISTRATION OFFICER
Maxwell is the Acting Chief Human Resources & Administration Officer at EFC Zambia. He joined EFC Zambia in February of 2020. Maxwell’s first role in Human Resources began 19 years ago with Standard Chartered Bank Zambia Plc.
He left the bank in 2011 after having performed the roles of Human Resource Service Delivery Manager, Business Development Manager and Recoveries Manager. He had a stint of 1.5 years at the British High Commission as Head Corporate Services. He has also worked as Branch Manager for a signage manufacturing firm, a Consultant for a human resource consulting firm and as Human Resource & Administrative Officer for a private school.
Maxwell holds a BEng in Chemical Engineering with Minerals Engineering from the University of Birmingham (UK). He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Capital Management from the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM). He is a Full Member of the ZIHRM.
