1. How safe is my SMART CARD?

Yes It Is.
1. The SMART CARD displays your full name and picture so it is very difficult to be used by someone else other than you.

2. A Personal Identification Number (PIN) that only you know is linked to your ID Card. As long as you have not shared your PIN with anyone, no one else can transact in your account.

3. We have advanced antifraud software protecting your SMART CARD.

2. Should I share my PIN?

Your pin is your first barrier of protection, access to your account without a PIN is impossible. Please avoid writing your PIN on documents easily accessible by anyone but yourself.

3. What kind of documents do I need to open an account?

1. National Registration Card (NRC).
2. National passport.
3. Valid driver's license.
3. 2 x Passport sized photos.

4. Do I need to renew my Passport or Driver's license in an event they expire in order to open an account?

Effective 1st May 2010, all clients must produce their ID card to perform any transactions in the branch. Furthermore, account access is denied unless you enter your PIN in the keypad provided in the branch.

5. What happens if I lose my Smart Card?

Considering that your Smart Card is mandatory to access your accounts, it must be stored in a safe place. In an unfortunate situation you lose your Smart card please contact us as soon as possible.

6. What is the minimum balance for a Term deposit?

The minimum balance is ZMW 2,000.00

7. What happens at maturity of the Term deposit?

At maturity, you can choose to transfer the interest earned and capital back to savings account or you can roll over the capital and / interest into a new investment at a new market rate.

8. Is my money safe?

Yes It Is.
Your money is safe at EFC because EFC strictly adheres to the Bank of Zambia policy regulations and is licensed and supervised by Bank Of Zambia.
